"As the morning fog clears, steeply forested islands appear. Shortly afterward...more than 40 Pacific white-sided dolphins romp through the vessel's bow wave. Gulls stride bobbing logs and passengers excitedly spot orcas, sea otters and seals. Squadrons of bald eagles soar and screech - an awesome sight." Paul and Lorie Bennett, The Province.
British Columbia’s Inside Passage is the area of the B.C. coast that extends from just north of Vancouver Island to Prince Rupert. This area is sometimes also referred to as the Great Bear Rainforest.
Cruising up the coast in a motor or sailing yacht or on board a ferry is a great way to travel the famed Inside Passage. Many visitors are also making their way to Prince Rupert on board one of the many cruise ships that have chosen to make Prince Rupert their port of call.
However you chose to travel you will no doubt find the scenery is exceptional, the wildlife abundant, the waters uncrowded, the fishing salt and freshwater fishing first-class and the isolated communities friendly.
